Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is commonly seen as one of the most difficult but favored poker games. It is a game that, even more than regular Omaha poker, invites play from all levels of players. This is the primary reason why a once obscure game, has increased in acceptance so amazingly.

Omaha hi/low begins just like a regular game of Omaha. Four cards are given out to every player. A round of wagering ensues in which players can wager, check, or fold. 3 cards are given out, this is referred to as the flop. A further round of betting ensues. After all the players have in turn called or folded, a further card is flipped on the turn. a further round of wagering happens at which point the river card is revealed. The entrants will have to put together the strongest high and low 5 card hands based on the board and hole cards.

This is the point where many entrants can get baffled. Unlike Texas Holdem, where the board can be every player’s hand, in Omaha Hi-Lo the player must utilize precisely three cards from the board, and precisely two hole cards. No more, no less. Contrary to regular Omaha, there are 2 ways a pot could be won: the "higher hand" or the "lower hand."

A high hand is just how it sounds. It is the strongest possible hand out of every player’s, whether that is a straight, flush, full house. It is the very same approach in just about every poker game.

A low hand is more complicated, but certainly opens up the action. When deciding on a low hand, straights and flushes do not count. the lowest hand is the worst hand that might be made, with the worst being made up of A-2-3-4-5.
